Hiring Organization: Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Center (BSBCC)
Location: Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia
Assisting in bear husbandry, rehabilitation, research and volunteer program.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Diploma holder in conservation management or equivalent; professional experience an asset
Demonstrate passion for animal welfare and wildlife conservation
Good verbal and written communication in English and Malay
Demonstrate computer proficiency required for this position
Field related experience
Malaysians preferred
Class D driver’s license
Job Scopes:
Bear care a) Coordinating and assisting in animal husbandry, as needed to ensure good animal welfare. b) Diet and nutritional planning for resident bears. c) Assisting with quarantine operation. d) Assist veterinarian in treatment and record keeping.
Rehabilitation a) Assisting in planning of electric fence training, integration and release to forest enclosure process. b) Planning and creating enrichment project for resident bears.
Volunteer / Intern a) Providing guidance and education to volunteer/intern about bear husbandry.
Research a) Assisting in data collection.
